Humanity is like a dog chasing his tail.
Once we get what we want,
we become bored and start the chase all over again.
And no one seems to mind,
the busy bustling in the process.

The incessant loss of time

The faces we hold in our minds become more like faded photographs
as we forget the personalities and memories tied to them.

We continue onward, chasing our tails blindly,
though we sternly conceive that we can see where we’re going.
Spinning endlessly,
the whooshing of the tireless wind deafens us to the voices and missed phone calls.

The incessant loss of time

Chasing our tails,
that all coveted freedom to stop chasing.
The freedom thought to granted by a smoothly flowing cash cycle,
tempts us viciously.
We go on, further determined to “succeed” and forget even more why we started the chase.

We are busy, bustling hounds,
losing our sleep and capability to learn new tricks
or even remember the old ones.

The tattered photographs within dust enveloped frames
are packed away in boxes.
The faces, now these forgotten, packed away memories are causing neuronal death.

Yet, no one seems to mind the incessant loss of time.

As we continue to chase, we lose our minds, loved ones.
Overall, we lose our very reason for beginning our chase and are left with nothing.

Loss.

As we continue on blindly, believing we’re truly seeing.
Going neither forward, nor backward,
we spin endlessly, deaf to the wailing wind, losing everything
all because we forgot the importance of standing still…..
