The sharp sunlight

shimmers softly on the fiery brick buildings.
There is smoke rising from the chimneys in smaller buildings nearby.
The trees aren’t moving,
suggesting there is no steady breeze.
The sky is a light color blue,
freckled with little gray blobs of clouds.
As time progresses further,
and I am finding myself impatient,
the big buildings, trees, and even chimneys that seem so small from in here are changing their visage.
I sit silently watching the changes take place.
The sunlight so softly shimmering against the fiery brick building before is growing sharper by the minute.
The steam immersing from the chimneys is no longer visible.
The freckles of clouds are now long streaks of fluffy white.
It is my time to go.
I can feel it in my bones.
I’m ready to explore
the adventure waiting for me outside of this building.
Farther and farther I’ll roam,
until there are no more sun lit buildings and smoking chimneys…
