I scampered across the highway
waving my arms in a frantic frenzy.

No one would stop.

No one would see me.

I continued to fade,
turning evermore like the air.
invisible.
And rain fell through me,
splattering too loudly
before my feet.

I was being granted my rest,
my most devoted deliverance.
I transformed painlessly,
becoming one with air and water.

Organic.

I fell out the door,
realizing I did not want this anymore.
Running and waving my hands,
the oncoming traffic wouldn’t see me.
No one would see me.
I was already gone before I reached the door.
