It was a set gold, and
shimmering as you placed it in my hand,
The confetti was a smooth, quarter-sized square.
In handing me the little confetti piece,
you opened my mind.
The small square confetti piece
broke me from my preoccupation.

The tears dried and I was back
to swaying in jubilation,
holding hands with the person next to me and you,
enjoying the release in her song
and the atmosphere, unified, we created.

My ceaseless mind slowed,
allowing my senses to take in the harmony
I admittedly neglected.

The confetti was a smooth, quarter-sized square.
In handing me the little confetti piece,
you opened my mind.
The small square confetti piece
broke me from my preoccupation.

“Are you afraid? ‘Cause I’m terrified
But you remind me that it’s such a wonderful thing to love”- Patricia, By Florence Welch (Florence + The Machine)
