Riding in your car, the windows not working and the backseat a mess, soon is nowhere in sight as the music blares like sirens in the passing police car.
You brought me an understanding that I didn’t realize could be.
I was letting my talents fall and creativity die until you reminded me to try.
You aided in my self-discovery
I thought I was one way, believing and thinking in concrete substance.
You’ve shown me a new world, a beautiful world.
You’ve given me a gift that no one else could bestow properly upon me.
You’ve given me stories through endless music jams.
The twists and sudden changes in the notes all illustrate macabre and subtle forms.
You can almost see the shapes and colors but they’re perfectly obscure.
They leave you filling in the blank spaces, creating your own hallucinations .
Beautiful perceptual brilliance surrounds the open mind and we’re somehow somewhere else.
Riding in your car, the windows not working and the backseat a mess, soon is nowhere in sight as the music blares like sirens in the passing police car.
I lean back and close my restless eyes.
You drive smoothly.
On those most burdensome nights,
you drove further and longer.
Even though you had places to be, I came first.
My state of mind, held safely in your passenger seat, was stabilized.
Only through the transcendence, the music lifting me to places I’ve never been and outside of myself, I was saved.
