Time is edging closer
and my heart is aligned
with his ticking.

The hum of electricity,
the tapping of the heat,
these little sounds,
all trying to compete
But my attention is elsewhere,
planning on this line,
thinner than a blade of hair.
You wouldn’t even know it’s there,
like me,
though I’m not a wallflower,
just a face with a name.
I’m calling, watching and seeking out your game.
