There’s a pausing of space and time,
the cream cool on my tongue,
flurries floating out of my windows.
There is music booming through my speakers
and I’m present for the first time
in at least a week or few.
I’m exactly where I need to be,
feeling at home in any place,
even this unfamiliar space.
The cream is cool
and the sky is clear.
The stars falter,
falling to the backdrop of flurries.
The cars are rushing by
and yet, I’m unconcerned.
There is no one but me
and for the first time in a while
I’m happy with my own company

I couldn’t help but smile while reading this. It’s a wonderful feeling to be happy with your own company and to come to terms with who you are – fears and weaknesses and all.
