Sunrise, a breath of winter air, wispy clouds, colors plentiful, open skies and snowy roads.
I missed the sun, missed the rays on my skin.
For a short time, I enjoyed it.
Sunrise, starting the car, wiping the frost from my windshield, driving through the day, walking and turning wheels.
Dancing between fine lines and cutting and binding strings all day.
Sunrise, a breathtaking start to my day.
It could be enough to get us through this day.
Those are usually the sort of days when I start to feel like a little kid exploring…
and then it amazes me that they let me drive around like a grown-up…
and suddenly I remember that (according to my driving licence and the official bits of paper where official things are noted), I AM a grown-up.
(Have been for some time, too – just never got used to playing the part)
And the sun looks down indifferently:
“Enough with the existentialist malarkey or whatever… You see those clouds gathering? Well, if you think my rise was cool, just wait ’til you see me set!”
Suns – a bit of high energy fusuion and all of a sudden, they think they’re all rhat!
They do. They have a total God complex haha, the whole lighting up our world thing … haha I definitely understand feeling like a kid trapped in an adult body most days as well. My fiance and I always bust on each other about that because he feels the same way. I truly think that feeling misplaced or like a kid is common among artists because we see life through a very different lens. 🙂 thanks for commenting ! I always enjoy your comments. I’m always trying to explore in every day life to keep the wonder alive. I am constantly in need of mental stimulation with my ADHD so I try to always be humble and find interest in everything. It isn’t easy but with more practice, it’s been proving well worth it !
I agree 100%. It took my heart being stomped on numerous times to find the right person. Laughter is worth more than one million dollars in my book, especially these days. Honestly, connecting with all you guys helped me open up so much. I’m very grateful for all these incredible friendships on here ! I hope you know how great you are !

Thank you Tom ! It’s not cheesy at all, believe me. Anytime someone has something kind to say I never find it cheesy. It’s been a rough end to 2019 . I’m hopeful 2020 will be brighter and better for everyone. We all deserve to enjoy the sun. Speaking of the sun, it’s shining bright today and I’m thrilled. It’s been such a cloudy winter this year.
