Walking home, I heard a shuffle.
Looking up, I saw you and your struggle.
Squirrel hanging from the limp limb,
how terrified you must have been.
Clambering and tenaciously tugging, pulling upwards.
All eyes were on you, in that moment and then there was me.
My eyes were wide, ready to catch you if you fell.
Squeaking and making kiss noises, I cheered you on.
You looked so cute, I couldn’t help myself.
My hands reached out, cupping under where you hung.
You were so cute, you tiny grey creature.
Crawling, reaching and balancing, you were somehow missing your mark.
Sliding back to your beginning, you must’ve been terrified.
There was me, the giant below you.
You couldn’t know my intentions were pure.
You only knew of your battle, and your will not to fall.
