Hillside full of memories, open pathways to be walked upon.
Hillside full of memories, small children, poor and full of energy. Sipping water from the rocky falls, picking blueberries on the cliffside. Huckleberries making them chuckle, and race to get to the most.
Bare foot and on the run, little children grew to industrious adults, whom rarely had time to climb the hillside, hike the rocky trails, sip from the water and eat those berries.
They brought their children on occasion. Their children brought their memories back.
One of them became a father. Holding tiny hands, building dams to keep a little pond for that tiny curlyheaded child. Laughing and splashing in that same water her father played in before her.
