I didn’t expect to find you, you finding me in the damp. The empty space, finding you, finding me astounded once again.
I’m one of those people who, who I guess has much more to say than I’m often able to convey. You took the words right from my mouth. You painted them up high, fusing with fluffy clouds in a neon sky.
These words I cannot convey, too fearful to even whisper. You’ve taken them with you through the rain storm. Writing about crying in a car, rain pouring down. You took the words right from my mouth with your rhythmic melody of pitter, pattering rain drums.
I feel the rain, too, the sounds and the cold pitter, patter beating on my head, my shoulders. It feels like crying, dripping down my hair, under my eyes.
I feel the rain, too. It’s calling to all of us, trying without resolve to quench a dry throat thirsting for inspiration.
You’ve taken the words from my heart and we’ve gained a friendship in the rain.
Inspired by – This poem was inspired by a post by Woodsy 🙂 We’ve become great friends and I’m always so amazed with his work. https://woodsydotblog.wordpress.com/2020/03/12/car-in-the-rain/
