The cold wind means there’s more to come. I’ve felt this heaviness coming onto me before.

Heavy like a heartbreak, like a cross to bear.

Mine.

Yours.

I’ve made mistakes before.

This time there’s not a soul to blame. There is only time and the world revolving as we go on, somehow sitting with this.

Great poem. Flows well. I haven’t seen such long lines in a poem before, but it works.

Thank you so much. I know the lines are too long. I’m trying to figure the update out with my wordpress app. 🙂 Thank you for stopping by and commenting Christopher!

    Love this.
Just saying something as it is.
    Quiet…
    Understated…
yet somehow saying such a massive thing at the same time.

Thank you. There’s been this heaviness and it’s still lingering. All we can do is face and fight it. Thanks John!!! Massive hugs!

You’ve put a lot of heartache into a very few words here, the brevity itself speaks of finality and loss. My favourite part is the most minimalist section:

    “Mine.

    Yours.

    I’ve made mistakes before.”

Yes. This piece came from somewhere down inside of me. Some part that grieves something, someone, many. Thank you Tom 🙂 I’m really happy you felt the emotion in this. Thank you so much !

Love this! It is miserable and rainy where I am right now and, maybe because of the dark clouds, I felt the weight of this while knowing somewhere there is still sun.
