Bent over backwards, spine twisting and hair spilling over my eyes. Snapping and singing are all around me. The sun is setting but taking it’s time.

Bent over backwards, I fight with gravity. Holding my ground, it scuttles out of my reach.

Pesky little bird, I just want your photograph.

I reposted this post from 2019 so I could give a little back story as to why I chose this particular photo I took.

My friends, fiance and I were in NYC to take pictures and explore Central Park. I had been getting frustrated trying to take pictures of starlings. They never stop moving! – just like the rest of the city! But eventually, I think this one starling got tired of me following him and gave in, letting me get some great shots of him. This particular one was my favorite. I actually started to cry and thanked the little bird ( probably thought I was crazy) !

After he was done posing for me, I showed the pictures to my friends and fiance with tears of joy bounding down my cheeks. They all looked at me with puzzled expressions on their faces.

My grandfather loved birds. That was all I had to say and they understood.

*These are some other bird shots I got that day.

    Love the pictures.
Starlings are common enough for people not to realise how cool they are.

        Oh their weaving thingy, yeah!!

(When I was a kid, my grandfather used to call me to see the “flying saucer birds” when starlings flew over)
