Waiting in vain, my blue blood in my narrowing veins, waiting to pump blood red and rich, excelling in this machine once again.
This machine is suspended, disbanded until further notice..
Summer is nigh, sun rising high and bustling about the busybody clouds.
There is a heart kept in a glass box nearby. It’s waiting for permission.
This boxed heart is waiting for permission to bloom and beat. This heart yearns to enable a body much like yours or mine, to sprint to create and live.
This machine is suspended until further notice and the heart trapped in the glass box is stiffening with the frost.
Disbanded until further notice.
We must coexist to exist at all.
About the poem: I was walking with friends on a local trail and found this creepy doll arm with a little sprout growing inside of it. I wrote this poem before finding this arm and had no clue what photo to use. This photo once taken, was a no brainer 🙂
