I wanted to take you with me
Raking the angry words through the coals
I wanted to bring you with me
But I couldn’t
I couldn’t bring you into the cold
The sunrise was dazzling as they sought to disrupt our peace
but the wind wasn’t wanting for breath
Frost stroked the grass blades
Icicles gripped awnings,
crystalized and looking sharp,
they were garnering a grudge
with having to fall
I wanted so badly to take you
But your many hoods still wouldn’t be enough
The cold beauty is too chilling to behold
when you’re fragile as you are
The wind would take you from me
and you’d become the frost, freezing all you see
