Chose not to be lost
Stuck in some dizzy daydream
Wasn’t fathoming fantasizing
Hands shaking
sweating sweetly, thinking about on my own

Rose colored glasses took ahold
My pale cheeks, stained a brutal blush
It’s become akin to my skin
My vision is hazy

Chose not to be lost
Stuck in a dizzy daydream
I’m glad you’ve chosen for me

I never was a valentine

I memorized every detail
every small mark
the speckles in your eyes
the circular cocoa bean below them

I memorized every detail

My work of art
that I could never take credit for
You’re mine but I don’t own you
I’m so sweetly obliged
to take your hands in mine

Green eyed wonder
living poetry in motion
You’re the star in your galaxy
you’ve brought me to orbit

I love that you chose me
Most days,
I am undecided as to why

    Look up darling.
Let your face beam in the light
Everything is going to be alright.

Thank you so much 🙂 I’m glad it reached you in some way. I always aim for my poetry to reach anyone and make them feel something. There’s so much craziness in the world. It’s nice to stop and sit with ourselves sometimes, even if it’s when reading other’s words haha. I have been really enjoying your blog by the way 🙂 I love the information you provide and the details.

I completely agree. It’s nice to momentarily escape from the world around us through poetry, reading, spending time in nature, or other hobbies and activities. It makes you realize how precious life is and makes you cherish every moment and feeling.

Thanks for your kind words. It’s been fun to explore more of our home province during the pandemic. If it weren’t for spending time outdoors I probably would have gone crazy over these past two years!

I know what you mean! When covid first hit, I was out of work for 2 months! I was losing my mind. If I didn’t have all of the nature trails and mountains nearby, I’d really lose it. Nature and writing really do make you cherish moments. They really helped me to be more mindful too which is something I truly value in life, especially with how chaotic this poor world has been. You’re welcome ☺️ I really enjoy interacting with other bloggers on here. I enjoy our chats through the comments. I love finding fellow nature lovers and travelers. I hope you find more pictographs that you’re aiming to find my friend 🙂

Spending time in nature and writing are both good ways to help collect your thoughts and relieve stress. Agreed, it’s also a great way to momentarily escape from all the craziness in the world around us. One of the unexpected surprises I found about blogging was interacting with fellow bloggers. It’s something that I enjoy as well. I’m glad we’re connected now and I look forward to reading more of your poetry. Cheers, Linda

Oh, wow! I just asked for your name in the last comment I responded to and you left it here ! Haha well l, ignore my last response to asking your name, Linda 🙂 . I am grateful to have connected with so many great people, too. I didn’t expect anyone to really be interested in my poetry, only because there are so many talents on wordpress. But I was surprised to see how something I wrote meant something to someone and helped them through something tough. That’s what matters and what I wanted to achieve making my blog. I just didn’t think it would go as well 🙂 I agree, 💯! Nature is one of the best ways to make yourself feel better. I am fortunate, like you, to be around a lot of woods and trails. I’m glad you’re finding meaningful connections as well. It makes blogging so much more enjoyable 🙂 thank you for enjoying my poetry. That means so much to me, Linda. Thank you 🙂

Ha, I actually didn’t realize that you had asked me what my name was until now. I guess we’re on the same brain wave!! I’ve always admired people who write poetry. It shows a creative, thoughtful and often playful side with words. And hey, I think if it’s something that you’re passionate about it, it’ll show in your writing, which it clearly does 🙂

Aw thank you so much, Linda . That’s so nice to say aw, I really appreciate it! 🙂 Believe it or not, I get nervous posting some poems, mainly because some of them can be intense. I mostly write from perspectives outside of my own, the best I can. I know that sounds strange because they will be from my perspective no matter since I’m writing them. But I try to challenge myself to keep it interesting 🤔 or tell a story that someone might need told. The ones from my perspective make me nervous because it’s from my brain 😂😆 . I do love creativity so much. I can remember being so young and making up stories and telling my friends the stories. It brought me such joy. I started writing poetry when I was in the 7th grade. It’s crazy looking back how much it changed. Haha 🤣 We were definitely on the same brain wave with the name comments haha 😆. Thanks so much Linda 🙂

That’s part of the beauty of poetry is that it allows you to have those vulnerable moments and connect with the words. That’s pretty amazing to hear that you’ve been writing poetry since you were in Grade 7. It must be neat to see how your writing has evolved through the years!!

Thank you !! Yes, it’s pretty cool but also mind blowing. I used to write so much from my perspective back then. My writing was driven by so much emotion and sometimes that resulted in a pretty decent piece but now I try so hard to keep challenging myself. Writing has always been a strong outlet for me. Talking about things is tough for me . It’s almost as if I can’t get the words out the right way. But when I write, I have the time to look at what I’m writing and convey what I truly want to convey without the social awkwardness haha 🤣 – when I write from emotions that is 🙂 it’s just so interesting 🤔 Poetry does allow vulnerable moments and I value them so much because it’s a kind of honesty that day to day conversations can’t reach. 🙂 I feel like that when I read your blog and other blogs on here, too. I feel connected. I think that’s the right word. People like us are rare. I don’t mean that in a negative sense. It just can be lonely sometimes in day to day life. But when I read blogs and communicate it makes me feel like I belong someplace haha. It’s so hard to explain but I think you’ll know what I mean 🙂 . We belong in our worlds of course and what we do but it’s a special kind of sense of belonging, of stronger connecting 🙂

It’s always good to keep challenging yourself and to push outside your comfort zone. It’s funny because I feel the same way about how I’d much prefer to write about how I feel than to talk about it. One of the reasons I first started to blog was to better remember my travels and adventures, but over time it’s become more about connecting with the WordPress community. And it turns out that there are a lot of introverts like me with common interests. I know what you mean about feeling like you belong someplace and about finding your people. It’s a wonderful feeling 🙂

It truly is a wonderful feeling. I’m an introvert with extroverted tendencies haha . I completely understand. Writing gives me time to think and respond how I truly mean to. I have ADHD so I sometimes have word puke haha and it gets me in trouble 😵‍💫. haha but I guess it would better make sense to call myself selectively extroverted. I’ve learned to observe and with time discover who I can let see my goofy quirks. I have many 😂😆. That’s awesome that you feel that way about writing too. That’s exactly it, Linda !!! It’s the sense of belonging on here that keeps us coming back 🙂
