Stitch Less

Awoke to ticking clocks
Anxiety dreams still ringing with the alarm
Heart heavy and stitch less

Want to fly again
Look down with empathy
but still feel joy with my soul

Smiling faces
laughter drinking me in
Hugs and words wise beyond human years spoken

I will never understand
I will never begin
to know why I could deserve
something so brilliant, so unbreakable

Don’t try to understand
Just accept the time at hand
Seize the moment
Of memories lingering
Like stars surrounding the moon
Let the same encapsulate you
