Missed my alarm,
crickets still aloft in my fuzzy head
A bouquet of ringlets
knotted in my busy dreaming,
my tossing and turning
churning my hair along with me
Missed my alarm,
I’m a frightening sight
My toothbrush, dripping with toothpaste heavily plops onto my tee shirt,
staining the spot an unsightly white
I’m running late.
Where are my keys,
my other shoe,
my mind ?!
My frantic mind aches,
my breathing starts to thicken,
my vision begins a dizzying wave
I need to stop,
Just one second, no, HOUR to breathe
Push it back
Choke down salty tears
These are supposedly my “best” years
