The Carnegie Museum wasn’t too far from the Andy Warhol Museum. The drive provided more scenic opportunities.

We spent the majority of our day in the history side of the museum, saving the art side for Thursday. The history side of the museum was massive with many exhibits we did not expect, such as the gems, fossils, and dinosaur exhibits.
We got lost taking photos of all the beautiful formations. The colors ranged from mellow earth tones to wild neons, some even glowing in the dark! One of the best outcomes from visiting this side was the gift shop. I was able to find beautiful stones for my brother. They were reasonably priced and shone beautifully. I ended up choosing Iron Pyrite and Labradorite. Both have gorgeous luster and shine when any light source touches them.

I didn’t expect to be able to view giant dinosaur displays. These displays really made me grateful to know I do not share life with these creatures. Though terrifying, they are something to see in person. I couldn’t help but appreciate their beauty and mystery.

Thanks, Pooja! I love them, too! Pittsburgh has a lot of great museums, but within only one week we couldn’t get them all in. These were the main choices on our bucket list haha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†. I definitely recommend them if you’re ever in Pittsburgh ☺️. There were so many things I saw that I didn’t expect to get to see

Lol of course you have to pick some and stick with those, can’t see them all. I’m glad you had a good time and I’ll keep that in mind 😊

Thank you, Jeff!! I do as well. My fiance and I took a trip to Pittsburgh and made sure to get some museum trips in while there. πŸ™‚ The timing was great because it decided to rain those days. I enjoyed it. The city looked really pretty with all the puddles and reflections. I definitely recommend these museums.

Lovely collection of pictures from the drive to the Carnegie Museum and of the gems and dinosaur fossils inside. I’m such a fan of shiny things, so the precious gems certainly caught my eye. It’s cool how some of them even glow in the dark. Geology rocks!
