Night waves whoosh about,

careening in and out

of shadows and streetlights.

Night waves swish and splash

through rain soaked cracks in pavement.

The yellow hues from streetlights casting  eerie glints,

seem to shudder at the sound.

Along with me,

my Billow observes the soft

white noise, too…

Stealthy, soft arm lays  prostrate across my rapid heartbeat.

My shaking settles,

my bones silently sleep in my skin.

This is what it feels like

to listen in the moment

to traffic surging towards daylight.

Beheld are tender noises.

that have me yearning to hold onto the night.

The waves simmer down

as morning light sneaks through my blinds,

upon a dawning horizon.

The night waves sing their goodbyes.

I’m not ready.

Sweet Billow, holding my heart,

we bestow our secret splendor onto

anyone who wants to slow down

and take in a simple pleasure,

a night wave and some cuddles.

Thank you !!!! I was really feeling flowy that night . I don’t know how else to explain it. I love laying in bed and reading while listening to traffic flow. It’s so calming.

Agreed, it’s like having some background noise, which can be soothing. Sometimes when I can’t sleep at night I like to put on some white noise, typically the sound of rain.

Yes!!! The sound of rain helps a lot! I will use that or I’ll use my little fan πŸ™‚ or even sometimes birds during the winter πŸ₯Άβ„️ I know that’s random but it helps me at times haha πŸ˜‚
