Seeing you now,
that light in your eyes still shines
so bright.
If I could use that I would attract
all the stars in the sky for you.
I would scare all those shadows
back into hiding.
You’d be free and unafraid, again.
You’d be just like how you were when we first met.

Jocelyn, there are no secrets
between us.
You were and still the one
I look for at family events
and on a technicolor dancefloor.

Your heart was always open
and you were always there.
Somehow, you still prove to be.
You’re proving facts all wrong!

I wish I could gather back
what time has taken from you.
I wish I could have told you
how much you meant to me then.

Time went by so fast.
It’s no excuse.
I promise I won’t forget you,
no matter time’s tragic decisions.

You looked out of step,
lost in a daze on the dance floor.
You were looking for someone,
a familiar face.
Surrounded by family,
you seemed so small.
You don’t remember them.
Do you still remember me?

Seeing you now,
I feel like crying
but I won’t break down.
You need to know,
it’s ok if you don’t recognize me.
I love you just the same,
regardless if you know my name.

Beautiful soul,
your eyes are still the same.
Searching and wider,
but inviting love, nonetheless.

Jocelyn, we love you so much
more than words
could do justice.

You don’t need to worry.
There will always be
a hand held out for you to take.

You never need to wonder
if by God, you’ll be blessed.
You’re an angel and so
Your light continues to show.

What a beautiful tribute. It’s also a good reminder of how precious our time really is.

  Thank you so much. It means a lot, Linda 💞. I was sobbing writing this. She is my fiance’s godmother and one of the first of his family members I bonded with. She made me feel so welcomed at family events and was always a wild card. She’s such a beautiful soul. She doesn’t deserve to endure losing her memory. I love her so much. She is family.     Thank you. Aw 🥰 she’s a good person. She is still with us thankfully but just is struggling to remember things. It’s hard seeing her struggle. She is strong though. She still has that toughness in her.
