Prisms of light
swim about the sky.
Lifting the grim
and aiming to dive upwards
until colors reach every tired eye.
Drawing upwards,
our eyes cannot pull away.
Magnificent mysticism in light
is driving us to stay.
Feeling as if a promise made
will be fulfilled,
we are lions tamed.
Sometimes, when lost on the edge of a kind of creeping invisibility, when tumbling off into dark space, I find myself trying to focus all the lost colour back into my heart.
Reading this reminds me that you have been such a lens –
with your words, your imagination, your friendship.
