Through Love

Your smile
splashes light
over the shadows on my face

Around you,
I can’t camouflage them.

With you,
I don’t need to.

Your eyes
and their timid crinkle
remind me,

I am somebody who is
YOU worthy.

Uphill climb
and many zigzag
spirals later
I’ve grown as
I’ve struggled

I’ve learned to love,
who I was and who I’ve become,
through your love.
