January is bringing us rain,
this year, this week.

It turns out,
I’ve never had the ability
to figure this out
on my own.

January is bringing rain.

For once, I feel ready.

Mother Earth is full of trickery.
Grass and dirt are enswathed in cold.
They’re snug and safe under billowy snow.

Last year fled
dragging my lifeboats and sinking ships
after it.

Sinking ships and lifeless lifeboats, unbeknownst to me,
wore through my ankles
with their unyeilding deadweight.
It’s no wonder why
I have aching feet.

A good friend
spoke to my better side.

I’m learning to lean
into the familiar
unfamiliarity of a stranger,
to trust her welcome unknown.

I’m well into January.

Here comes the unexpected rain.
I’m ready.

It’s been such a weird winter. We’re just coming out of an extreme cold snap and are now expecting some snow today followed by a bunch of rain tomorrow and the day after. Good thing I don’t have to leave my house anytime soon!

Honestly πŸ’• I’m grateful you don’t, too. Luckily, I have been graced with an office snow day. They closed the office due to the ice rain we’re getting so I get to stay safe at home. I’m grateful as I be could not afford snow tires this year. My clients live in higher elevation so driving in snow is not fun πŸ˜”. I’m glad to be home. How’s your little one? Awwww

Oh nice! I’m glad to hear that you were able to work from home because of the crummy weather. Agreed, driving in snow is not fun. And it can be dangerous, especially without snow tires. My little one is doing well. She had a tongue and lip tie release last week so has been adjusting to being able to more fully use her mouth. It’s been a bit of an adjustment, but she’s been improving and seems like she’s in less pain (and is crying way less).

Aw I’m glad she’s healing well β€οΈβ€πŸ©ΉπŸ˜Š 😊 . Precious babe ❀️ I will keep her in my prayers as she heals . Yes πŸ™Œ I was happy not to drive with this weather . The temp is supposed to warm up as the week goes on. That will help the ice thaw a bit haha πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†. Be safe 😊

Thank you, Linda 😌. My hubby and I have COVID so unfortunately we might not enjoy this week but we’re surviving and making it the best we can, resting and trying to get better. I hope you are well and enjoying your week. All the best ☺️

Thank you. It’s been rough but we’ve been taking care of each other. We’ve been trying to sleep a lot and sitting Lysol using Clorox wipes while finishing things to keep things contained. Fingers crossed 🀞 and prayers we’re better soon. Thank you so much πŸ™

It has been a crazy winter. Hot one week, frigid the next and now winter and spring weather in one week! Crazy πŸ˜‚πŸ˜†

The Jet Stream weakens, and so does my spirit, made as it is of ridiculously fine rain.

Sometimes the rain is the place I run to… the place I hide in… lose myself.

    But sometimes…
