Tiny Street Lamps

Springing forth,
you’re restless and mighty.

Hanging your heads like street lamps
doesn’t disguise your strength.
Endeavor to mask,
fake vulnerability
as you please.

I
See
You

Bursting from underneath
frozen ground
with no refuge.

You embrace
Winter’s frosty fingers
and rise up,
a champion for Spring.

Your tithe
spent in shivering
in the undeniable cruel in-between,
co-parenting of Winter and Spring.

You align yourselves
as street lamps do.
You stand statuesque and brilliant,
surrounded by puddles and snow .

I love this poem and how descriptive it is! Seems very fitting as many of our spring blossoms are just starting to emerge.
