Dawn is rising,
enduring the heavyweight grind,
competing with the champion sun
Birds harmonize in unison,
smirking as the sluggish humans
grumble and enviously catch their gaze.
It isn’t all so serious,
though, it appears that way.
The birds are the only wise ones
They wake before the rest,
before the sun,
before dawn and all that dawn brings,
on their own accord,
by their own choosing.
