There are days like today,
when I have to admit,
that there pieces of me
you’ll never fully receive

It’s not for lack of trying,
not due to anybody
dying to know.

Center of attention,
it’s a waste of time,
sulking, demanding that you have what is mine.

Repeating thoughts,
bickering between ruminating
and problem-solving,
And I can’t
be victorious
every battle.

There are nights that I fight
demons I’ve already beaten, before.

It’s not for lack of trying,
but I’m tired,
and the weary never rest.

Just
Let
Me
Reset

Finding a stall,
or a quiet
copse of trees in a park,
I could breathe in life, again.

I wipe my eyes,
and cover the bruises
with long sleeves, and
I swallow my shame,
ask God for forgiveness,
for causing myself injuries.

I wear a smile,
and placate my features
to appear all the way, here.

I’m not ignorant,
or convincing myself
that only I feel this pain

It’s not pity I need.
I need solutions
to an ongoing war

You want honesty?

I’m speaking out, now.

Are you listening ?

When did silence become too loud ?

Thank you 😊 I’m really happy it resonated with you 🤗🤗🤗❣️ Like I told John, I love channeling all that’s around me and letting it out in poetry. It has been such a great help, especially lately. This might make me sound crazy but I’ll say it, anyway. I truly think that we are meant to or driven to write something to help someone else or to inspire them or ignite something in them to make them feel . Thanks for commenting and stopping by ☺️🤗 it means so much to me !

With our emails, and just thinking a lot in general, I’ve really been coming to terms with the feelings of others and my own . This piece was written from many perspectives, including my own. Parts of your perspective could be in this, too for all I know. I think writing is truly my all, honestly. I was feeling heavy yesterday night and writing this took the weight off of me, instantly. Thank you for reading and inspiring me so much all the time with your friendship and honesty.

I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing that we can’t share every piece of ourselves with someone else. Part of it is because we’re still trying to work things out or make sense of our feelings and emotions. We may never get there. And that’s okay.

I love your point of view on this topic. So many people don’t understand that. I’m very fortunate to have good friends and Matt that I could share those sides of myself I’m not too crazy about, with. It’s also nice that they don’t expect me to gush it all out at their disposal. Linda, we are very fortunate people to have the friends and love in the life we have. I’m also very grateful for you. Your comments get me thinking about things from other points of view. I love that ! Two of my other friends on here, John and Christopher often do the same. I know you know what I mean, when readers comment thoughtful comments on your post about places you’ve been, and ask questions, it’s interactive and it makes the blogging experience so much more enriching 🙂

Oh absolutely! Life is more enjoyable when you have good company! Interacting with others has been one of my favourite things about blogging. I couldn’t agree more about how it makes the blogging experience more meaningful. I might have mentioned this before, but I always enjoyed reading poetry in school. I love that the meaning can be ambiguous and there’s no “right way” to interpret something. All of this is to say that I really enjoy your pieces and seeing what kind of memories or feelings or emotions that they invoke. You certainly have a gift of words!

Thank you 😊 that really made me smile. I really want to reach people who don’t feel they have a voice. I enjoyed reading poetry in high school, too 😀 I enjoy that aspect about poetry, also. I like being ab le to jump into another frame of mind and hear other perspectives on different topics . It’s fascinating how every single mind processes differently. Your blogs take me on great adventures and they’re always written so well. Never stop sharing those adventures! They bring me peace 😊❤️
