And I’ve gotten used to the bitter numb,
used to the lights,
raining too brightly over my head.
I’ve grown accustomed to
the matted grays,
the black liner, girls wear,
sharp on their top lids.
It’s all around me,
reminding me,
I’m changing
The colors are multiplying.
All around me,
vivid chirping, like an electric violin,
graces my open ears.
Light is warmer,
not as blinding, somehow.
There’s a cosmic shift happening,
somewhere behind the scenes.
My monologue begs to represent,
all that you’ve shown me,
in your mode of being you
Colors encompass your frame,
the most luminescent of hues
and I’m in the sun,
in the complacent starkness of winter.
Your colors spread around the world,
making light of many.
Ambiguous situations,
become welcoming in your kaleidoscope
of dazzling hues and electric violins.
I wish you could experience you,
the way I do.
