Healing wholly
openheartedly, representing a cause
I didn’t know I stood for.
You got under my skin
just like I couldn’t bother to
keep denying myself my truth.
I remember as far back as three,
possibly a younger me.
This wide expanse of life
appeared unfathomable,
impossibly mystical.
I wondered why nobody else
saw this space like I did.
I’m learning my individuality isn’t
a part of myself to cast too far off.
There is hope in all these oppositional
sides of who I came to be.
They’re coming together
like a Christmas bow,
golden and shining under an array
of colors that rain down overhead.
I was NEVER a mistake,
not something to leave behind.
I’m a budding blossom,
growing in an unfamiliar garden.
