I guess I’ll let you go.
I’ll believe in small miracles,
think of our memories as
blissful stitches in time,
as we mutter our heartfelt hellos and goodbyes.
I hung the moon and stars
up there, on your crown.
You will never know,
the time I’ve spent.
I would never tell you.
I couldn’t.
Holding you in my heart is almost enough.
I want to remember our embrace,
our caring intentions,
our different kind of love,
a small love that falls beneath the cracks
and so often, gets forgotten.
But, I never will.
I guess I’ll let this go,
sum our small love up
as an experience of love learned
