If not for you,
I wouldn’t durst to live
outside of my own head.
I couldn’t bare the thought,
of forcing myself through.
If not for you, I wouldn’t care where I’d be.
I don’t know if I’d be breathing.
This isn’t meant to be bleak,
isn’t meant to bring a tear
to anyone’s eyes.
This is reality,
moreso, my reality at times.
Even through them, you’re here,
a bright light,
illuminating the shadows over my face,
brightening my features, once more.
You’re beyond glorious.
There aren’t words to match your true integrity.
You’re beyond glorious,
far ahead of your years.
Meant to be?
No.
We’re soul bound,
woven into a quilt of hearts,
dampened with rain
and dried with the sun
living in your eyes.
If not for you,
I couldn’t learn to love myself
like I do with you.

Thank you, John. It means a lot. Yes, I definitely get that . It takes a lot for a person to become whole and become themselves . I’m getting there .

Beautiful poem. It’s amazing how much we can find enjoyment in such simple things and learn more about ourselves when we’re with someone we love. You just automatically want to show up and be a better person. And that makes you care more about yourself in some ways and life in general.
