Trigger warning ! ⚠️ ⚠️ Innuednos of suicide

My blankets were sopping wet
from mopping the constant spill of tears,
as like a monsoon in India.
I kept moving forward,
often, through the rain and raging storms.

Days are becoming more clear.
Time that usually was fleeting is returning.
I was chronically confused.
My frustration becoming contagious.
It became all too much
when my most daunting demon
glared me down, in MY own home.

I stood my ground
and called for help all at the same time.
I didn’t let him take my life,
didn’t choke my flame.

I’m alive.

Alive

Powerful piece. I like how you structured the title too to spell out defeat and yet were indeed triumphant in the end.

Writing can be very therapeutic. And it’s a great way to make sense of things. I admire how you’re able to articulate your thoughts, feelings and emotions into your poetry. You really have a gift with words.

Thank you, Linda. It means a lot to me coming from you . I look at your blogs and I’m like wow 😲😳. I love your travel pieces. I’m always looking for places for Matt and I to check out ☺️ . I have been writing poetry since about the 6th grade. I took a lot of classes, too. My favorites were argumentative writing and creative writing in college . They were so much fun. I almost regret going to school for psychology. I don’t though. I’m thinking about going back to school for writing once some other student loan stuff gets sorted lol 😁😆 thank you so much for your kind words and friendship
