You’re waiting on the other side,
halfway over the hill,
arms ready for embracing,
lungs swallowing sacred air,
accepting all that’s to be,
EVERYTHING

I’m peeling my eyes open,
floating a drift the clouds
a prismatic, bountiful beauty.
Leaves and blossoms,
keeping my company,
a calm welcoming.

We’re open to anything,
the baby roses sweet scent,
the adults red and pink,
even the thorns,
with their challenging demeanor,
possibly pricking us as we receive them.

We’re meeting under the sky,
where the grass blades swish and sway,
in front of our crumbling wall.

Such pretty flowers. They work well with this piece. It reminds me a lot of death and coming to terms with it. I’ve actually been thinking about that a lot lately. My aunt and husband’s grandmother both passed away earlier this year. And one of my dear friends was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of pancreatic cancer and there is no cure. This poem gives me some peace, which I’m grateful for.

I am sorry to hear about the losses you’re experiencing. 🫂 I am here if you ever need anything. Losing people is the terrifying loss for me. I can see how this piece could remind you of death. I love different perspectives everybody experiences. That’s why I love writing. I’m grateful this piece helped give you some peace. I enjoy when my writing could help someone. That’s what it’s all about. We’re all in this journey together

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately, the older we get, the more we have to deal with loss and loved ones passing away. It’s all part of life, but can be hard to process in the moment. And absolutely, we’re all in this journey of life together!

Any time 🙂😊 it’s true. Time can be a thief but bring new life too. There’s so much to process . I’m always praying for loved ones to stay here longer.
