It’s been so long,
as time trickles away
that I’ve checked into this space.
All was going great,
no lamenting to regret.
Thank God you are here.
Embarrassment crowded me in the midst of this.
All was going great
and then, it hit me,
hauling me, howling in my ears.
Eyes stung with the oncoming paranoia,
the fear becoming a vacuum,
a void, veering me to an empty room.
There was no lamenting,
no teary eyes.
I was in “control”,
until I wasn’t.
Thank God you are here.
Shaking and simpering,
face red with self inflicted resentment,
you reminded me I’m only flesh and bone.
There are times
when even the strongest
need someone to hold onto
