The leaves are shifting,
transfixing my eyes onto their grimacing faces.
I’m admiring the leaves,
the glamorous dressing they exhibit freely,
and fiercely before me.
I feel greedy having this all to myself
but grateful all the same.
Stuck in what feels like a daydream,
I can’t seem to pull away
Crimsons, golds and orange meet me
in my blissful bearing,
holding onto a moment in silence.
There are no people talking,

no couples strolling,
no crunching of feet.
There’s only silence,
placid and sweet.
Stuck in what feels like a daydream,
I don’t want to pull away.
