A pulling away,
a chance in time,
pulled away,
like the hands of a clock,
spinning in circular motions

This never made sense.
We wouldn’t have it any other way, would we?

A pulling towards cages,
things that “appear sound”
appear “rational”
A breaking away, in the end

A chance in time,
speaking of hypocritical honesty,
remembering when the sun felt new,
fresh in our primal youth

We never make sense.
we make choices,
pretending to know what we want
and have it, seeing another grassy hill,
daring to climb,
but we’re so content.

Shakey ground, again,
over and over,
the circle continues.

I really enjoyed this piece and I interpret it as the reality of aging. It does seem like we structure our lives to be caged in – with work and where and how we live. Life felt more freeing as a kid. And time seemed endless then too. Now it races by. But I don’t know what the alternative is. Maybe Peter Pan was onto something about never wanting to grow up!

I love how you said, “maybe Peter Pan was onto something.” I have moments when I imagine I could turn back and be a kid, again but with my current mind. I think about how I would’ve done certain things differently. However, I wouldnt be who I’m meant to be, I guess. I’m so glad you enjoyed this. Your comments are always so treasured to me because you really think about what you want to say. Life does go too quick as an adult doesn’t it. Trying to find ways to slow it down helps. I find nature really helps. I’m always on some sort of adventure haha. Anything that helps !!! You are a traveler so you understand that itch to be on the go and make lasting memories . The way you document I’m sure will help in treasuring them . You do such a beautiful job

I’ve had similar thoughts – what it would be like to go back in time knowing what I know now. But I imagine it would be pretty boring to live in the past. All we can do is move forward. You’re right how spending time in nature helps slow things down. It also helps put everything in life into perspective and to appreciate the present. I love that you’re always on some sort of adventure. It helps keep life interesting. It’s something I can relate to!

Definitely 😁 adventures keep life fresh and exciting . We definitely relate with that ! I think you’re right. It would be boring redoing everything. Also, I would t be where I am now. I’ve learned so much throughout my life and the thought of losing the people in my life because of different life choices is scary. The present is the best place
