You’re laughing without me.
I’ll keep myself blind and uncertain.
Walking along hot embers and ice.
I can’t let you go
as the scorching pain dips underneath my bones.
Like an addiction,
you feel it, too.
But, you’re presently oblivious.
Thank God.
I’ll keep you in my pocket most days,
daring thoughts of you and I,
following our routine, our rituals.
You’ve stroked my hands as
you’ve encouraged me,
“You’ll adapt, rise and conquer.”
Your faith in me is unbelievable
I’d never leave you,
even if it meant I’d die.
