Swinging wire,
wild, jerking a nimble chain,
casting shadows behind raindrops,
a cacophony of bird songs all around.

Limericks, spoken word,
spilling onto the pavement,
ravishing warm concrete,
enveloping puddles and all that’s among them
plus oversized feet.

Limerick, a taut rope
above of a busy highway,
running quickly,
trailing ink and a clown’s makeup
down his grim white cheeks.

Watching this unfold,
where is the sympathy?
Where is there a hand to hold ?

Feels like there are no hands to hold anymore.

Simply fingers, pointing, all locked and loaded with the kind of reason lonely hands don’t really care about.

It certainly feels like there is generally less sympathy and compassion in the world. And everyone seems so busy with their own lives. Rushing from one thing to the next. And we’re all slowly burning out while we walk across that tightrope.

Exactly! You nailed it ! We gotta cherish those in our lives that support and love us. Over the years I find myself appreciating them more and more
