I’m not depressed.
I’m just under the weather
with rain thundering down
and myself with no small umbrella.

The rain just keeps falling,
mocking tears falling down my cheeks,
slapping judgemental pavement,
and splashing into newly formed puddles.
The rain causes them to overflow
and obscure the trees’ reflections.

The drains are drowning, too.
Our dirt roads now small rivers,
with paper boats sailing all along the edges.
The thirsty roses are quenched.
The lawn is vibrant and refreshed.
The wind chimes are singing,
while the mums drink from the gutter’s dripping cup.

I’m under the weather,
quite literally.
And, I don’t mind at all.
