I’m writing to YOU,
one of the hardest things
I’ve had to do.

The sun is begging release
from those fluffy white clouds.
The blossoms are kissed
by the morning dew,
battling with the sun.
He tosses towels of rays,
warming their stems

I’m writing to YOU,
even while you’re lost in
amongst the flowers and sun,
head in the clouds

I’m torn between love and fear
I apologize for
never granting you
a glimmer of a chance

I’m sorry I let you believe
you’ve had to reach higher.
You’ve been good enough
all along,
without touching the stars.
Stay away from the edge

I’m in a torn position
between love and conviction
trying to convince you to
love all that makes you, you
Love, me

We’re often our own harshest critic. But the older I get, the more I’m coming to terms with myself and not caring what others think. I love that line “you’ve been good enough all along, without touching the stars”. If only we knew (and believed it) that all along.

Yes, absolutely. This was a poem I originally wrote a week ago in therapy. I was writing it for my inner child and man … It really made me look at things so differently . I would recommend this exercise to anyone. We’ve all felt unwanted, not good enough at one point in our lives and this gives validation to yourself and makes you feel heard. I really loved making this piece. You’re right, the older I get the less I care what people think and learn to love and appreciate myself more. I hope you are well this week . I’ll be visiting your pieces today or tomorrow. I love traveling through your posts. 😊

Oh absolutely. It’s a feeling we’ve all felt. Probably many times in our lives, but especially when we’re younger. I’m amazed at how you’re able to process your feelings and emotions and then articulate them through your poetry. It really is a gift.

I’m so happy it’s Friday today. It’s been a tiring week and I’m looking forward to taking a break from work. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Thank you so much. TGIF for sure and now it’s Monday. I hope you have a great work week . When it’s hot, I feel like work is harder.

Totally! The heat just drains my energy. I’m counting down the days to the weekend! How goes the job search by the way?

It’s going ok ? I applied to a bunch of places . I figure if I don’t luck out I will see if I could rejoin the team at the job I had if my mental health will allow it . 🤞🏻

Best of luck! And it’s nice to have that back up option just in case. But hopefully you won’t have to use it.

I’m off and on about going back. i loved the job and company outside of my mental illness interrupting my life. There were a lot of stressors and I handled them in the past. I just hope whatever happens, I’ll be strong and be able to manage my mental health and whichever position I end up in. Thank you for wishing me luck. I’ve been praying on it too and trying to really put positive energy from myself into the world and thinking positively. It’s very hard right now but I have your support and my friends’ outside the blog supporting me and my family and hubby so hopefully if we’re praying and putting positive thoughts towards it, good things will happen . I’m a lot braver than I was a few months ago. I bounce back like a yoyo so hopefully it’ll all work out

Your mental heath is a priority and it’s fantastic that you recognize that. And it’s great to hear that you have a solid support system. Sending you lots of positive energy and vibes your way. The waiting game is always hard. And it’s a tough market out there. But you got this!! In the meantime it sounds like you’re doing a lot of thinking and self-reflection, which is such an important and good use of time. Things will work out. And you’re definitely stronger and braver for it.
