Closing the door quietly,
heading out for some fresh air.
I’m hopeful the squirrels will be out,
the birds, or anything to interact with.
Coffee is simmering in the pot,
the smell encompassing the kitchen.
I’m open and ready to drink it slowly,
the rush is over for now.
I miss you already,
but it’s been a long time coming.
The air is crisp,
mixing with the morning dew.
The sun is just rising,
filling the air with an electric charge of life.
Almost indescribable,
the pavement glitters like gold.
I’m almost feeling as if I’ve left this plain.
I’m hoping the squirrels will greet me,
the birds, another person,
ANYTHING.
